"Toto, I have a feeling we're not in London anymore!"

Hi,

I'll have to be quick today. I'm out of the metropolis down in deepest greenest Kent. However I do have a valuable gift for you to download with my compliments, but first indulge me a moment...

This year we thought it was a good idea to decamp to a rented farmhouse on the south coast to see if we could get used to country living after 15 years in London. I have to say it is absolutely idyllic and very different to our city centre home.

Instead of seeing posters for missing cats or people on lampposts, they actually have signs for stolen cows!

And the only gunshots we hear are those of the farmer shooting rabbits rather than gang members taking out rivals...

At the bottom of our garden we overlook a sheep farm and every morning can watch our very own live version of 'One Man and His Dog' including those esoteric whistles from the old farmer leaning on his crook.

And don't even get me started on the wildlife . . . rabbits, ducks, moor hens, dragonflies, frogs, toads, lizardy type creatures, and lots of sheep...

I've had to slow the pace down a bit - when I went into the local town, I found that I was walking with my usual Oxford Street speed and frightening the locals. Perhaps that was also something to do with my continued copious intake of caffeine. Thankfully, my Starbucks addiction is well served by a Café Nero, where I now sit composing this email to you.

Thanks to the complete incompetence of BT, I have been unable to get Internet access at the farmhouse (Virgin have thankfully saved us and will have me set up next week). Well, that's what they promised at least!
